When you have enough of just lazing in our year-round sunshine, or just hanging out in a hammock, there are many ways to keep yourself occupied:
Here are just a few of them:
Swim in the warm water of the bay or in any of the nearby beaches.
Hike one of our many jungle trails and watch the birds and howler monkeys
Kayak - for example around Gipsy Island in the middle of the bay
Fish - from shore or from rented boat. The Gulf abounds in sea life, including whales, dolphins, turtles, flying fish and many others.
Dive - scuba or snorkel. (On the other side of the island you can find oysters in 2-metre deep water)
Ski - rent a boat and go water-skiing on the calm waters of the bay
Tour the gulf in a rented motor-boat - and include a visit to Tortuga Island, among the best known tourist destinations in Costa Rica
Visit some of the other beaches nearby, like Playa Blanca (4 km north) - or Playa Tambor (an hour's drive).
Visit the waterfalls in Gigante-river, a short drive and walk away.
